Schweizer Bergbauer

Schweizer Bergbauer

“Bergbauer” is a mountain cheese produced at 790 metres above sea level by Fritz Baumgartner at Käserei Trub, a multiple award-winning dairy and one of the world’s leading producers of Emmentaler.

It is made from certified unpasteurised mountain milk, which gives a more complex flavour than “valley milk”, thanks to the herbs that grow at higher altitudes.

Aged for 6 months, it is creamy with a long, lingering taste of alpine herbs and grasses – simply better cheese at a better price.
