One of the first types of cheese that reached the Nordic countries, the classic “Swiss cheese.” Beeler’s Emmental is an unpasteurized, carefully matured variant with a tangy aroma, underlying sweetness, and a base of nuts. It is one of the most iconic Swiss cheese varieties and a piece of “heimat” (homeland). When you cut pieces from it, the so-called “tears of joy” flow from the holes.
