Alp Ramin is one of the largest alpine cooperatives in the canton of Glarus and is located in the Elm region with its impressive mountain massif. Alp Ramin is divided into three alpine “Stafel,” which correspond to production sites at different altitudes where there is access to water, electricity, and a road network.
Here, women dominate, with Ruth Marti running her operation with her two female colleagues. The grazing fields range from 1300 to 2300 meters above sea level, where 55 dairy cows and 100 bulls spend their summer days freely roaming. Alp Ramin produces Raclette, Glarner Alp cheese, and alpine butter.
In 2022, Ruth Marti won gold at the Swiss Cheese Award for her Alpine cheese!
